Women who enjoy the great outdoors will love the outerwear that Marmot provides. The coats are made from quality materials and are available in a variety of bright, eye-catching colors. Here are a few of the most stylish varieties of Marmot coats for women, as well as information on where customers can purchase the outerwear.

Destination and Highland Jackets

The Highland and Destination women's jackets from Marmot are shaped like elegant trench coats. Both coats are available in neutral shades, so they match any other hue of outerwear. The Highland Marmot women's coat is available in black, white and gray, and retails for $200 on the Marmot website. MemBrain Strata, a speciality Marmot technology that protects the wearer of the coat against the rain, is also built into the Highland coat. Zip hand pockets help to keep the hands warm in brisk weather, and the hood on the Highland coat zips on and off to instantly change the look of the jacket.

Marmot's Destination coat comes in black, quicksand (a greenish tan color) and platinum. The hood is adjustable and can be rolled into a collar, and there's a drop pocket inside the coat for storing essential items. The stylish coat sells for $225.

Nabu and Nano Jackets

Marmot's Nano and Nabu jackets are lightweight, making them perfect for a jog around the neighborhood or an outdoor yoga session. The Nabu jacket is available in red and black and ranges from size X-small to X-large. The Angel Wing Movement in the jacket allows for free arm movement without having to worry about the jacket riding up, and there's a chest pocket in the jacket that has a waterproof zipper, so you can keep your phone or mobile device there safely.

The jacket Marmot offers in the Nano style is sold in bright hues like lime green, turquoise and purple. The jackets also come with a vivid yellow zipper. The Angel Wings Movement is also part of the Nano jacket, and the coat features reflective logos to help keep you safe if you're outside at night. The pockets on the Nano jacket include zippers that are resistant to water to keep electronic devices from being damaged.

Finding Discounted Marmot Jackets

It's not uncommon to find a Marmot jacket for women on the company's website for more than $200. While the jackets are durable and high-quality, and will likely last for years, there are a few ways to find a Marmot jacket that has been significantly marked down. For instance, Zappos.com sells jackets from Marmot, and a number of women's styles like the Jena vest and PreCip jackets on the Zappos website are sold at between $99 and $150.

Moosejaw sells discounted Marmot jackets for women as well, and customers can save between 20% and 45% on Marmot outerwear like the Leadville, Strata and Meta jackets.

Marmot Coupons

Customers who would rather purchase their coat directly from the Marmot website can do so with virtual coupons to save money while shopping. The RetailMeNot website offers a number of attractive deals for Marmot customers, many of which include 50% off or free shipping on orders over a certain amount.

The Savings.com website features a number of Marmot coupons as well, including a 5% to 30% discount on Marmot outerwear. Retail stores like REI also sell Marmot women's outerwear at affordable prices.

Beginners Hiking

You feel it in your bones before you rub the last bit of sleep from your eyes; it is a great day for a hike. The early-spring morning sun shines through the cluster of pines just outside the backyard gate. The birds are chirping and the lazy bees buzz in and around the Asclepius tuberose you planted last year. A quick glance at the temperature gauge on the stucco wall outside enhances your desire to be outdoors, communing with nature. At a mild 64 degrees at present and with a predicted high of 75, it's nothing short of a perfect-weather day to coax you out and onto that mountain trail you've been yearning to explore for months.

As you sip your morning beverage and gaze longingly out the sliding glass window, the light that's been bathing the pines deepens. An amber aura eclipses the half-green backyard lawn--but not entirely. The lawn's brown patches stand out like a sore thumb. It will, no doubt, be slow in recovering from this last winter's deep burial of snow.

You glance down at the ample roll of flesh peeking out from your loosely-tied robe and wince, realizing the effects of your own 'long-winter burial' as evidenced from one too many cups of egg nog and second helpings of white cream sausage ravioli. Just how out of shape are you, you ask yourself as you rinse out your mug and place it in the top rack of the dishwasher.

First on the list is to ignore the other to-do list. (Painting food-storage room shelves and re-grouting the back bathroom tile? Those tasks will continue to collect dust, regardless.) The list limbering up your mind now, like a series of frenzied warm-up squats, is the one that will help you in your search for gear, help to get you outfitted and eventually hiking on that shining trail. Second on that list is to make sure you're just as shiny in all of your preparations.

A question to ask before beginning: Are you an experienced hiker?

If not, and you live in the city, plan to go for a walk in the park. Find a park with uneven or unpaved surfaces. Start with short hikes first. If your body and stamina levels endure, then graduate to trails. It's also good to hike with a group when starting out. Even if you plan to hike only for an hour or two, make sure everyone has a bottle of water -- at least one bottle per person per hour of hiking.

When determining where to hike, consider the following: natural views and landscape and the availability of marked hiking trails. Consider the terrain of the area as well. Hills and mountains are gorgeous, but you don't want to find a steep hike -- even though it's short, it might be overly challenging. Also, and most importantly, the footwear you choose will make the world of difference both in your enjoyment and in the over all health of your feet. Hiking boots are optimum. If you do not have boots, wear comfortable shoes with substantial soles. Make sure to take an extra pair of socks with you.

Hiking Clothing Stores

It is a smart thing to do to wear comfortable clothes in layers. That way you can remove or add them as needed. Don't forget about rain gear, too. To access the right type of clothing so that you are comfortable and protected, pop into a hiking clothing store or search one out online. There, you'll find customer service agents that are friendly and knowledgeable. Many of these personnel are expert hikers themselves. Whether it be shoes, gear or attractive hiking clothing, there are many stores to shop at with employees available to assist you. Here are some of the best hiking clothing stores:

Recreational Equipment, Incorporated

REI's company's creed is; "We inspire, educate and outfit for a lifetime of outdoor adventure and stewardship." A group of hikers themselves, they were inspired to establish a company where the public, either new to adventure in the great outdoors or seasoned professionals, could not only purchase quality outdoor gear but actually become a student of adventure. If you or one you know possesses a craving for learning and adventure, the REI Outdoor School will fill that need by providing professional instruction.

The Clymb

A visit here and you are already envisioning how cool you will look, hiking outdoors, in their premiere clothing line. Graphic tees, hoodies and jackets from their exclusive collection are all fashionably cut and sport colors and designs that would surely turn any Sherpa's head in envy. As a member of this online store you'll enjoy 70% off their premium brands and free shipping as well.

L.L.Bean

With retail stores across the United States, L.L.Bean is a name well known and respected. Their hiking footwear is extensive, with many style options and designs for both men and women. Also, who knew hiking clothing could be technical? With fabric names like Gore-Tex, Polartec, Primaloft Wool Blend and Tec Waterproof System, you know they not only have your back (covered) but have it well protected!

Bass Pro Shops

Another well known outfitter of men and women hikers is Bass Pro Shops. The clothing options are extensive and they feature all the top brands at competitive prices. For extreme comfort while hiking, an attractive line of ladies' underwear is offered in a pack of three. Natural Reflections is the manufacturer and 'Kiss my Bass' the inspired inscription.

Whether you're planning a short jaunt on a local mountain trail that you've wanted to explore or an all-out excursion to the Grand Canyon, there's no reason for you not to be hiking! Directions to many state and national parks throughout the United States can easily be accessed. There are just as many excellent hiking clothing stores to visit. Whether it be for outfits, advice or inspiration, they are easy to find.

Indeed, it's a beautiful world and there's no reason for you not to look well-put together out in it. Be as confident as a stoic pine on a majestic mountaintop while you're hiking on her trails.

Where to Get a North Face Jacket

Depending on what function jacket is needed, The North Face products vary greatly in cost. The most expensive variety, regardless of vendor, remain the versatile, waterproof variety, used commonly for snowboarding, skiing and other outdoor winter activities. The North Face brand remains costly due mainly to the top-quality workmanship put into each product, and Hyvent and insulated works remain the most in-demand. Their apogee style jacket, retailing at $420, remains one of their most expensive clothing items, while also remaining highly fashionable. Browsing through the North Face website will help those looking to know exactly what products are available. Depending on what is being purchased, free shipping might also be an option; however, the prices are not subject to change, and specials deals such as coupons and holiday sales are not regularly offered -- although being a member of their newsletter and email list will provide some incentives such as early ordering, and occasional coupons.

Department Stores

Stores such as Macy's and Nordstrom's also offer The North Face products, such as jackets, fleeces, and other clothing items. The advantage of purchasing from those vendors (despite the retail price being the same) is the added incentive of seasonal and holiday sales, coupons, and the ability to try on items in-store. Store sales (independent of The North Face vendors) also add to the incentive of purchasing from these vendors, although the overall selection varies depending on demand of items in-store. So while pricing remains relatively similar to The North Face vendors, in-store sales and the ability to physically try on items adds benefit over purchasing directly from the supplier.

Sports/Camping Stores

For customers looking for a larger selection of North Face products and accessories, and for those who are avid outdoors people or athletes, perhaps the best places to go are Dick's, REI, Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS) and Moosejaw. Dick's remains one of the better-stocked outdoors stores, offering an extensive selection of North Face products---clothes, jackets, fleeces, winter coats, boots, and running and swimming gear. The extensive selection offered in these stores, as well as its seasonal sales and inventory stock, as well as its in-store option to try on items before purchase makes them viable options as well. Knowledgeable staff can also make selecting items easier for customers as well.

Regardless of vendor, genuine quality North Face items will range in price from $50 to $450 dollars, typically, depending on what item is being purchased. While online stores offer the largest selection, the place to get the cheapest, best deals for real The North Face jackets will be a store such as Dick's or EMS.

The Best Rain Jackets for Women

Some people think that weather cannot dictate what they are wearing or plan to wear. Weather changes as well as seasons from sunny to windy and to rainy. It can be cold or hot so you must be prepared to avoid contracting diseases and feeling uncomfortable in any situation. This applies to both children and adults, men and women to keep themselves warm and comfortable as dictated by weather. You should know the season and take note of weather forecasting as you go out in recreational activities, picnics and other events. Therefore, dressing and packing should be as appropriate with great consideration on weather conditions. Let us look at the rain season and the best jacket for this weather, especially for women. Women will wear rain jackets while it is raining to carry out various activities like carrying out their business, gardening and exercising like running, walking, and biking. Each jacket has unique characteristics ranging from cost to design. In this article, we feature the qualities of a good rain jacket for women.

Qualities of a good rain jacket for women

The best rain jacket must ensure that rain is off and ensure moisture is not felt and retained inside. In the past, people used to think that oversized, heavy cloths, probably with slicked rubber, are appropriate and will keep the body away from rain. However, that is not the case. The best rain jacket for women should have the following features:

Waterproof

The best rain jacket should have a layer that prevents the entry of water. It may have layers that keep rainwater off from the body and other inner clothes. The best examples of rain jackets for women that are waterproof are marmot Oracle, Patagonia Rain Shadow for women.

Well breathable

Jackets should be waterproof as well as easy to allow air to move in and out easily within the jacket, so as to maintain freshness of other clothes and the body, especially during and after high-intensity activities. The air inside is full of vaporized sweat thus the jacket should allow this sweat to move out and allow fresh air in. A good example is Marmot Precip for women.

Durability

The best rain jacket should be of a material that lasts long enough because you might not wish to buy a new one every year. The jacket should not tear or wear easily as a result of contact with rain or snow. When buying, one should check for any sign of wear or tear, and go for well-known, quality brands.

Weight

Weight is essential when purchasing any garment and this is important for jackets that will get into contact with rain. It should be of a light material that cannot retain water and become heavy while wearing them during rainy weather. It should be easy to carry and fit into pockets or other packs. Also, it should be of good weight to allow easy packing, body movement, running and riding. An example is the Outdoor Research Helium 2 for Women, which weighs 6oz.

Fitness and comfort

Everyone wants something that fits them and something comfortable to go around with, and this is most essential for women. The best rain jacket should be able to fit well, and ensure the woman is feeling comfortable while wearing it. The jacket's fleece must fit well and be comfortable at the chin area, and the jacket waist should not move up when lifting the arms. The material should be soft and comfortable to the soft skin of a woman. Examples of comfortable women rain jackets are Marmot Oracle and Patagonia Rain Shadow women's rain jackets.

Appearance

Women purchase clothing by considering many things like color, shape, size, cut, material, design, stitching and other features according to tastes and preferences. Women want something that gives them dignity and boosts their femininity despite the weather that prevails. Therefore, the best rain jackets for women should be appealing in terms of color and design and be able to boost their dignity and feminism.

Other functional features

These include buttons, zippers, waist cinching devices and other features like snaps, which help one to adjust the jacket to get maximum comfort and keep the rain out. Ladies like those jackets with waist-cinching devices like belts to maintain their shape and size. Also, pockets should be available, well placed, easy to reach and large enough to hold stuff and keep them dry. An example of a jacket with good functional pockets is the Marmot Oracle.

Ideal rain jacket for women

The best rain jacket for women should be lightweight, comfortable and waterproof with essential features that are functional and keep stuff away from rain. The cost depends on one's purchasing power and the appearance is according to individual tastes and preferences. Ladies also consider the quality of material and the styling in terms of design and stitching, therefore ladies incorporate these features while choosing their clothing -- and rainy season is not an exception.

Buying advice for best rain jackets

When buying a rain jacket, consider a rain shell that usually costs less, and is waterproof and breathable. Hardshells are durable because they have many layers, however they are very expensive. So it largely depends on the activities carried out, the places usually visited and your budget constraint. If you are out most of the time, you should consider a hardshell for better service because it is manufactured with the latest and high techniques like the downfall waterproof breathable technology, which combine the two features effectively. Hardshells come with instructions on how to take care of the jacket so as to retain its durability and resistance. The face of the fabric will only make waterproof jackets breathable if they are dry and are maintained dry. This can be done effectively by cleaning and coating the rain jacket so as to maintain its durability and water resistance.

The best rain jacket for women need to be of the best quality, and after buying they should be cleaned well and maintained well to preserve their water resistance and make them durable so as to offer you the best service with comfort.

A Review of the Big Agnes Lynx Pass Tent

When you are in the market for a tent, there is a lot to think about. First, you need to know how many people will be sleeping in your tent. Second, you want to think about what type of camping you are going to be doing. Third, you want to think about how heavy the tent is going to be if you plan to carry it for a long distance. And fourth, you need to think about how easy the tent is to put together. The Big Agnes Lynx Pass tent is one option on the market that offers multiple models with different options for campers. Keep reading to explore the available options and how they might fit your needs, plus reviews from other customers.

Features of a Big Agnes Lynx Pass Tent

Big Agnes tents are manufactured by the company Big Agnes. They like to name their products after local landmarks. This particular test is named after the large open meadows in the Lynx Pass in Colorado. Their tents, like the landmark meadows, offer a spacious inside with plenty of room for the recommended number of occupants. This line of tents is designed for three out of the four seasons for camping, and they are freestanding structures. All models come with color-coded poles for easy set-up. They come with a lifetime warranty and are made out of rip-stop materials. The tents include extra features such as taped seams, a vestibule, pole clips, aluminum stakes and gear loft loops. There is also the option to buy the footprint, which gives you extra coverage from the wet ground.

Tent Models

The Big Agnes Lynx Pass tent comes in several numbered models. The number of the model is the recommended number of people to occupy the tent. (The Lynx Pass 1 fits one person, the Lynx Pass 2 fits two people, etc.) The two-person model has reviews that say that the tent can easily fit two people, plus two dogs. The largest model is the Lynx Pass 4, which holds four people.

Obviously, the bigger that the tent gets, the more it weighs. The smallest model for one person weighs just over 4lb. This is a little bit heavier than most other one-person tents, but it is also slightly bigger than most other one-person tents. The largest model has a spacious height of 52" in the middle and the doors open up to form an awning.

Pricing

The tents seem to be reasonably priced in their respective classes. The smallest of the tents sells for $159.97 on Amazon.com. The four-person model sells for $319.95. If you look around, especially at the end of the season, you can score a great deal not only on tents, but on all kinds of camping gear. Sometimes REI and other camping stores put the previous year's model on clearance.

What People Are Saying
There are some really great reviews out there of the Lynx Pass tents. Customers are very happy with the tent overall. There is a lot of space on the inside, and it stays pretty dry on the inside. The biggest compliment is how easy it is to set up. It is noted several times that every model only takes minutes to set up and is easy enough for one person. And it is also easy to take down and roll back up into the bags that come with the tent.

The downsides are that for some reason the tent comes with two fewer stakes than are needed to secure everything to the ground. Most customers recommend picking up a few extra stakes before setting up your tent. Another complaint with the one-person tent is that it has very little ventilation. It is rated as a three-season tent, but in the summer time it gets very hot on the inside.

In the end, the Big Agnes Lynx Pass tent is a good purchase. Whether you are looking to go backpacking or just to camp out in the backyard, these tents offer plenty of features for a reasonable price. The tents are sold in most camping and outdoor gear stores, like Moosejaw, but you can also find them on Amazon.com. Shop around on different sites to compare the price before you purchase to make sure you are getting the best deal. Once you have picked what size you need, the only thing left to do is pick a destination!

Northface Fleece Jackets for Men

We may be entering the warmer months of the year, but that does not mean that you cannot get someone something like a North Face fleece jacket for men as a present. This is actually a pretty good time to pick something out like that because the jackets will actually be marked down for the summer months. These jackets are among the highest quality of any jacket of this type and have been made to be quite interchangeable.

Different Styles For Different Folks

There are actually all kinds of different North Face fleece jackets for men, and the right one can be picked up depending on the need of the jacket. If hiking is the goal, there are types that are made to stand up against all the rigors of weather. Those types that are made for outdoor use like hiking are also built to be light and airy so that the wearer won't get bogged down and slowed down.

Sometimes, the right jacket is one that is going to stand up against much more severe weather. For these times, there is the Chimborazo fleece, which is set to go up against some of the worse weather Mother Nature can throw at it. This particular fleece has two layers, so that a cold wind will not set back the wearer. Rain will not be much of a roadblock on this kind of jacket, either. The water resistant quality of the fleece means that if you're caught out in bad weather, you will be well-prepared to still be plenty comfortable.

Elastic Cuffs

Sometimes, something as simple as being able to keep the chill from going up the wearer's sleeve can make all the difference. There are quite a few North Face fleece jackets for men that have an elastic cuff. This means that the sleeve is basically closed off around the wrist. It is not uncomfortable for the wearer because it is not squeezing the wrist, but is just elastic enough to close around it and keep the wind, rain and cold from getting inside the fleece.

If there is anyone you might know who is going to need a new winter or fall coat when the weather turns again, then you really cannot go wrong with one from this line. North Face has put itself in a position of market dominance by offering up such a diverse line. There is a North Face fleece or winter coat for almost any need. Check out the site Moosejaw for current deals.
